Lolo Pass Portland Hotel and Hostel

Portland, OR // 2021

A 5-story urban hostel set in an up-and-coming area of Portland’s East Side Burnside Corridor, the 88 room, 284 bed facility is comprised of a combination of minimalist private rooms and shared dorm-style accommodations.

We worked closely with the clients and their interior designer to review their prior projects in Barcelona and New York to develop a building program that would fit the needs of the site, the neighborhood and the city in general. The goals for the project centered around the idea of community and what is it that makes a community vibrant. Every aspect of the design, from the large rooftop patio, full-service restaurant and coffee shop, to the rentable event space were created with the goal of creating a place where local residents and visitors can interact, share experiences and blend local with foreign.
